Summer has OFFICIALLY arrived in Texas and it is HOT! HOT! HOT! I literally don’t want to leave my house until after 6pm when the sun is beginning to set. Although, it’s HOT it is one of my favorite times of year. I look forward to lounging around the pool, making margarita’s at 3pm (it is 5 o’clock somewhere!) and hang out with friends.
Earlier this week I enjoyed probably my last bowl of Pho and have been craving Buffalo wings all week. I have thrown together a quick, easy recipe to make for nice at home movie night or a delicious meal for having friends over.
Buffalo Sauce Ingredients:
- Buffalo Sauce – Frank’s Hot Buffalo is my favorite
- Butter
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Sauce pan
- Tupper-ware with lid or mixing bowl
Chicken Wings Ingredients: I had plenty of time so I brined by chicken for about 3 hours so that it would be tender. Remember to dry your chicken off after you drain and rinse!*
- Chicken Drumettes (the wings without the tips)
- Baking Rack
- Baking pan
- Non-Stick Spray
- Aluminum foil
- Onion Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Salt
- Tony’s
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Toss chicken in seasonings and allow to sit for a few mins.
- Line baking pan with foil, place the baking rack on top of the pan, spray with non-stick spray and place the wings on top.
- If you do not have a baking rack, the pan will do just fine. The baking rack allows for the fat to drip in order to get a crispier wing.
- Chicken should bake on one side for 25 minutes until slight crispy and flip over.
- Bake an additional 15-20 minutes or until finished.
- tip: I broiled mine for the last 5 minutes to get that extra crisp
While wings are continuing to bake:
- Pour buffalo sauce into the sauce pan and cook over medium heat.
- Add about two spoonfuls of butter to cut some of the tangy taste
- Less Vinegar taste = Add more butter
- More Tang = Less Butter
- Add in seasonings to taste
After the wings are finished:
- Place wings in bowl or tupper-ware and pour sauce on top
- Shake Your bowl to spread sauce evenly
- Remove from bowl to prevent your wings from getting soggy
- SERVE!
I really hope you liked this recipe as much as I enjoyed making it!
